Reiterating some "sigh" news
The print book of A
Time to Die may or may not happen unless I can find a work-around. It
appears some AI bot scavenged/pirated the title and ISBN for a company in
Australia called Dymocks, who then listed it as available for preorder. KDP’s verification
process believes that advertising the book as available for preorder means the
book was “already published” by some other company, and I can’t publish it on
Amazon’s KDP.
I tried contacting Dymocks’ online presence, explaining that
the print book is not available for preorder, that their advertising is
erroneous and illegal, and insisting they remove it from their online site.
Their AI response directed me to call customer service. So I called Australia.
Found out they were closed for the day (I have to find out what the difference
in time zones is). I sent them a “take it down” email, but until that issue is
resolved, I’m stuck with not being able to get this print book done. I have to
wait and see.
Ask me what I think of AI now.

But, wait! There’s more!

You don’t want to miss this: My ebooks also will be featured
(at discounted pricing) in the upcoming Smashwords “Read an Ebook Week”, a
week-long celebration of ebooks and the readers who love them. Watch for it: The
event runs from March 1 through March 7.

Speaking of March 7:
If you’re in or near the Gulf coast
city of Mobile, AL, on Saturday, March 7, you’re in for a treat.
Mobile’s Ben
May Library is hosting the Mobile Writers Guild and a bunch of famous/favorite
published authors for the 2026 Mobile Literary Festival.
Reader, writer, hope-to-be-author, this one-day FREE event has
everything a reader and writer wants to know about writing in multiple genres and
the business of getting published.
Look for me. I'll be there, too.

Ad info:
In Musical Pieces, the seventh installment of the Pieces anthology series, Mobile Writers Guild members pay
tribute to some of their favorite song titles (using only the titles for
inspiration, not the copyrighted music or lyrics). My inspiration title was “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”
This anthology is a collection of 28 pieces of poetry and
short stories, and the paperback is available on Amazon.
My thriller / suspense novels with a touch of romance, The Dawgstar and Death on the Yampa, are available on
Amazon or through your favorite e-Tailer and bookstore.
Nota bene: Angela Trigg, the RITA Award-winning author and
owner of The Haunted Book Shop has a few signed copies of my paperback books in
stock.
