Some reasons to celebrate

cj Sez: May 1st is a reason for multiple celebrations around the world. Popularly known as May Day, the date marks the beginning of summer in many European traditions, celebrated with parties, flowers, and a kaleidoscope of ribbons woven around a maypole.

   May Day is also known as International Workers' Day in a lot of countries, commemorating labor movements and workers' rights. For good measure, you can throw in Law Day in the United States, and don’t forget Loyalty day. (Sources: various sites)
           
   You celebrate the what, where, when, why, and how you want. I’m celebrating the upcoming May 5 launch of my novel, A TIME TO DIE. Only four more days after today!

   The ebook is available for pre-order right now. The paperback version becomes available on the May 5 release date.

   Yes, there are many stores and online sites you can browse to find and buy your next book, but here’s an online site you may not have heard of: Bookshop.org . According to the mission statement of the organization: “Our mission is to help independent bookstores thrive.” They also report that they have raised more than forty-seven million dollars ($47,000,000+) for the benefit of your local book stores. That’s a two-fer! You get a book, and an independent bookstore gets some benefit. No wait, that’s a four-fer: Reader. Bookshop dot org, Author, and Independent Bookstore. What a concept!
